When Kelly and Jon contacted me to discuss having me as their Virginia wedding photographer, I could just tell, they are one of the sweetest couples. Jon is a little reserved, while Kelly is bubbly and sweet. They balance each other out so well. They were high school sweethearts and it totally shows. They are so comfortable with one another and know each other inside and out.
If there’s one thing I love, it’s a classic wedding look. Kelly chose light pink and white as her wedding colors and everything came together so beautifully. They got married at the Deltaville Maritime Museum which is a gorgeous waterfront venue, with a neutral white interior to the reception venue. And, if you know me at all, you know I love classic, neutrals. Seriously, my house would be entirely white with little pops of accent colors (which would also be fairly neutral– blues and grays and maybe a little yellow) if my kids weren’t so young and messy.
The weather held off perfectly for Kelly and Jon’s outdoor wedding ceremony. We got through a gorgeous ceremony and most of the bridal party photos just in time for it to pour rain. Which, is good luck on your wedding day. Then, it cleared back off again so that we could do more photos outside after some dancing, speeches, food, and cake!
They ended the night with dancing under the covered patio– then, heading off in a classic car as their getaway. It was such a romantic, fun wedding. Kelly and Jon also honeymooned in Italy– judging by their instagram stories, they had an amazing time!
